BNW is an ongoing self-reflective project demonstrating the power struggle between the visual and textual narrative, conceived from perpetual exposure of information through news, reels, articles, images, polls, etc. It is an anthology comprising images clicked over weeks around the city stitched together through conscious thoughts artificially etched on the 35mm film.

The series shows a pseudo-interaction between the psyche and the camera of an individual living a materially satisfied life. The subtitle-like aesthetic tries to understand the importance of text-over-image and vice versa. The process was further experimented with showcasing the images on an image-dominated social media platform to gain insights on whether it could prove socially the tussle between text and image. Nevertheless, it was a failed experiment firstly because of the lack of awareness among the people about visualizing the world outside their circle, furthermore the precedence of visuals over texts, and then, due to the process being reduced to 'content' or a mere 'reaction'.

The project aspires to continue to jump from medium to medium of analog film photography > digitalization > printing > still image film-making as the series corresponds to the mind's endless introspection of the daily bombardment of information. This etching has created irreversible effects on the image and the psyche simultaneously, which renders the photograph vocal. The text will slowly fadeinto the image or the other way around, making this ephemeral operation into nothing more than data.
